One‑day training designed for individuals involved in the use of professional pesticides and serves as the mandatory foundation module required before progressing to any application units such as PA2, PA4 or PA6.  The course provides a thorough understanding of pesticide labels, regulations and safe‑working practices, in full compliance with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) directives.

Calculations, interpreting product information and understanding legal responsibilities form an essential part of both the training and the assessment.  Topics covered include: Environmental considerations and protection of water, wildlife and people, Legislation, codes of practice and operator responsibilities, Understanding and interpreting pesticide labels, Pesticide preparation, storage and disposal, Record keeping and documentation requirements.

To achieve this qualification candidates must successfully complete an online multiple-choice exam (30 questions).
