First Aid Training
Learn What To Do In An Emergency
The Importance Of First Aid Training
There are many reasons to attend first aid training beyond simply meeting professional requirements. Gaining first aid knowledge can benefit you in countless ways, both in your workplace and in your personal life.
First aid training does more than just help save lives — it can make the difference between a long recovery and a much shorter one. It builds the confidence to respond quickly, calmly, and effectively when it matters most.
By learning the right techniques, you can prevent situations from worsening and manage a wide range of critical incidents. Basic first aid knowledge equips you to care for someone until emergency services arrive, helping to keep them safe, stable, and as comfortable as possible.
Your own safety should always come first, as protecting yourself ensures you are able to assist others when they need help. First aid training teaches you how to assess situations safely while also highlighting the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle to support your overall wellbeing.

How Many First Aiders Do I Need In My Workplace?
After carrying out a first aider risk assessment you will be in the position to understand how many first aiders your workplace requires. The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 law states that employers must make adequate and appropriate first aid equipment, facilities and number of qualified first aiders in the workplace. The wording can be a little ambiguous in terms of the number of qualified first aiders available to make sure the law is being followed. So, in reality, there is no correct number specified by law that determines the number of first aiders your workplace may need.
The HSE recommends that if you work in a company with 5-50 workers, there should be at least one person trained in first aid. Another first-aider should be in place for every 50 workers after that. It must also be noted that high risk workplaces, such as agriculture and forestry, require first aiders who have taken a first aid course that meets the principles of assessment set out by the HSE.
