What Is A Forklift Licence?
Under Regulation 9 of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER), employers have a legal duty to ensure that anyone operating specific work equipment is adequately trained. To obtain a forklift licence, you must complete a recognised and accredited training course. Lift Truck Operation (Lantra Awards)
Counter Balanced / Industrial Telescopic / Rough Terrain
Course Overview:
These courses have been developed to provide operators with the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required to operate a lift truck or telehandler safely and competently. The amount of instruction required will depend on each candidate’s previous experience, with training delivered through a combination of theory and practical sessions, followed by formal assessment.
Each course equips candidates with the essential skills needed to operate the specific type of lift truck safely and in line with current legislation and industry standards. Topics covered include: Lift truck safety, legislation and operator responsibilities, Pre‑start checks, routine maintenance and fault reporting, Starting, stopping and basic manoeuvring, Handling, loading and unloading bulk or difficult loads, Operating on rough or uneven terrain, Safe‑working practices and industry best practice.
Location:
Training will take place at your premises using your own equipment, each course can accommodate up to 3 candidates.
Duration:
1 to 4 days depending on your requirements
Cost:
eg 1 day training for up to 3 candidates £600 + £120 vat = £720 (location may be subject to a mileage charge)
