CPD module in Chainsaw Maintenance and Crosscutting (c&g NPTC) 0041-01
Course Overview:
CPD Module 001 – Chainsaw Maintenance and Crosscutting
This CPD module delivered by a City & Guilds NPTC approved assessor is for qualified chainsaw operators who already hold a Level 2 Certificate of Competence in Chainsaw Maintenance and Crosscutting, and under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER), are required to undergo refresher training every 3 to 5 years. Focusing on the practical skills required to comply with legislation, industry technical standards, and best practices candidates will complete scored skills tests, each with a minimum required score to successfully complete the CPD module. Feedback will be provided on the candidate’s performance and advise on any recommendations where appropriate.
Chainsaws are potentially hazardous machines and could cause serious injury or even death. A reasonable level of physical fitness is therefore required to undertake the practical elements of this course.
Candidates should have their own equipment and PPE compliant with current CE/EN standards. If this presents a problem, please let us know well in advance of the training so suitable arrangements can be made ensuring the equipment is available.
Equipment:
- Petrol driven chainsaw with maximum recommended guide bar 15 inch
- Relevant operator’s manual (paper or electronic copy)
- Maintenance tools eg wrench and screwdriver
