Equipment requirements: A suitable PC or laptop with reliable internet access, plus a webcam and microphone for the exam.
This e‑learning programme provides the knowledge, understanding and competence required for the safe and effective management of rodent species in domestic, agricultural and commercial settings. Successful completion provides the recognised proof of competence required to purchase professional‑use rodenticide.
The training is delivered through three online modules, taking approximately 4–6 hours to complete depending on reading speed, note‑taking and reflection time. There is no time limit for completing the modules; your progress is saved, allowing you to return at your convenience. However, once the online exam is booked, you will have 7 days (168 hours) to complete it. Topics covered include: Legislative requirements for rodent pest management, Reasons for control and associated responsibilities, Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles, Biology and behaviour of key rodent species, Surveying techniques to assess infestation levels, Planning and implementing eradication campaigns, Control‑risk hierarchy for rodent management, Ongoing monitoring to prevent future activity.
