This course is designed for operators with prior experience, or for those who already hold certification in chainsaw maintenance and crosscutting – novice operators may require additional training.

One‑day training and assessment combines hands‑on practical instruction with essential health and safety guidance.  It also provides evidence that both you and your employer have undertaken appropriate training to comply with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER).  Topics covered include: Safety features and safe operating procedures, Maintenance of the chain, guide bar, and engine, Pre‑use checks and equipment inspection, Assessment of the work area, Pruning saw checks and safe working methods.
