Course Overview:

This course is for individuals who operate stump grinders as part of their work in arboriculture, forestry or other industries.  The one-day training and assessment provides the knowledge, understanding and skills required to use a stump grinder safely and to industry standards in line with current legislation.  Topics covered include health and safety, risk assessment, legislation, site preparation, maintenance, pre-start checks and safe operation.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Safety helmet complying with BS EN 397
• Hearing protection complying with BS EN 352
• Eye protection/ mesh visor complying with BS EN 1731
• Gloves with reinforced palms and fingers
• Non snag outer clothing, trousers to protect from flying debris
• Safety boots with good grip and ankle support complying with BS EN 20345
