Course Overview:
Unit 220 – Prepare and operate a stump grinder
This course is for individuals who operate stump grinders as part of their work in arboriculture, forestry or other industries. The one-day training and assessment provides the knowledge, understanding and skills required to use a stump grinder safely and to industry standards in line with current legislation. Topics covered include health and safety, risk assessment, legislation, site preparation, maintenance, pre-start checks and safe operation.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Safety helmet complying with BS EN 397
- Hearing protection complying with BS EN 352
- Eye protection/ mesh visor complying with BS EN 1731
- Gloves with reinforced palms and fingers
- Non snag outer clothing, trousers to protect from flying debris
- Safety boots with good grip and ankle support complying with BS EN 20345
