(C&G NPTC) 0041-03
Course Overview:
CPD Module 003 – Climbing Trees and Aerial Rescue
This CPD module delivered by a City & Guilds NPTC approved assessor is for qualified climbers who already hold a Level 2 Certificate of Competence in Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue, and under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER), are required to undergo refresher training every 3 to 5 years. Focusing on the practical skills required to comply with legislation, industry technical standards, and best practices candidates will complete scored skills tests, each with a minimum required score to successfully complete the CPD module. Feedback will be provided on the candidate’s performance and advise on any recommendations where appropriate.
A reasonable level of physical fitness is therefore required to undertake the practical elements of this course.
Candidates MUST provide their own tree climbing equipment compliant with LOLER Regulations. This means providing a receipt of purchase if equipment is less than 6 months old. Or, produce evidence the equipment has been thoroughly examined by a “competent person” within the last 6 months. In addition, weekly inspections must have been carried out and recorded, with documentation available to verify this.
