CPD Module in Felling Trees up to 380mm (C&G NPTC) 004102

Chainsaw Cutting

Course Overview:

CPD Module 002 – Felling Small Trees up to 380mm

This course is for individuals who are qualified chainsaw operators and under Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) are required to have refresher training every 3 to 5 years. 2 days training covers the appropriate practical skills required to meet legislation, industry technical standards and industry good practice. The training is delivered by a C&G NPTC approved assessor. Candidates will complete skills tests which will be scored, each test has a minimum score for the CPD module to be achieved. The assessor will complete a feedback form on the candidate’s performance and advise of any recommendations required.

Chainsaws are potentially very dangerous items of machinery and could cause serious injury or death, therefore a minimum level of fitness is required to complete the practical elements of this course.

Candidates should have their own equipment and PPE which conforms to CE/EN standards.  Please inform us if this prevents a problem as some items can be provided.

Equipment:

  • Petrol driven chainsaw with maximum recommended guide bar 15 inch
  • Relevant chainsaw operator’s manual (paper or electronic copy)
  • Maintenance tools eg wrench and screwdriver
  • Sharpening kit eg round file, flat file, file guide, depth gauge tool, filing stump vice
