Tree Survey and Inspection (Lantra Awards)

Course Overview:

This course is for individuals who may have a responsibility for trees as part of their work, eg Farmers and Landowners, Forest and Woodland Managers, Highway Inspectors and Park Rangers. One-day training on how to recognise and then report issues to an appropriate expert. Topics covered include health and safety, legal and safety implications of hazardous trees.

Course Objectives:

1. State the legal and safety implications of hazardous trees

2. Maintain your own health and safety while carrying out a basic tree survey and inspection

3. Recognise hazardous trees

4. Determine level of risk

5. Decide on an appropriate course of action

6. Collect and maintain adequate information

7. Recognise your own limitations
