Course Overview:
This is your chance to help your colleagues in the forestry industry by supplementing your first aid skills. D J Gemmill’s short first aid course is ideal for those that work in the forestry industry and already hold a First Aid at Work certificate.
Working in a forest setting is high risk and if this is your place of work, you will understand the special inherent dangers that have potential to surface. If an emergency does occur that is specific to the setting you’re in, having the necessary skills and training is critical. Over 4 hours you will build on your first aid fundamentals for focusing on the special skills related to the forestry industry.
The course is Lantra approved and has been developed to comply with the Forestry Commission +F as per the First Aid at Work – Forestry Commission Policy and in consultation with Forestry Industry Safety Accord (FISA).
Course Objectives:
- Recognise the common risks to forestry workers and administer First Aid accordingly
- Contribute to and respond according to emergency response plans
Who Is This First Aid Course For?:
This course is for those who already work in the forestry industry and need to ensure they have the relevant qualifications to carry out first aid. You will need to have completed the First Aid at Work course to be eligible for the +F First Aid course certificate.
