Unit 132 – Mounted or Trailed Slug Pellet Applicators
The NPTC units 131 (PA4G) and 132 (PA4S) modules are a perfect next step after obtaining your PA1 Foundation Module and you are wanting to use granular or slug pelleted type applicators. You will get to understand the current legislation while preparing you to become a safe and competent operative with the skills you’ll need to gain your PA4 certificate.
There is an assessment for unit 131 (PA4G) which involves the granule applicators and a separate assessment for unit 132 (PA4S) that covers slug pellet applicators.
City & Guilds NPTC state candidates must not go forward for testing until the Pesticide Application Foundation Module PA1 unit has been achieved as this is a prerequisite.

Who Is This Course For?:
Our PA4S and PA4G courses are developed for people who already hold their City & Guilds NPTC PA1 Foundation Module Certificate of Competence. It is for those who wish to take their training further by incorporating the safe use of pesticides through slug pellet and granular applicators.
To be successful on this course you must be able to read and interpret product label information and calculate formulae with the use of a calculator.
Location:
Training and assessment will take place at your premises using your own equipment, each course can accommodate up to 4 candidates.
Duration:
Total 2 days (half-day training plus assessment on a separate day)

Do I Need The PA4 Certificate of Competence?
Depending on how you want to apply pesticides professionally will decide which NPTC Award for pesticide application you will need. Everybody using pesticides in a commercial setting is required by law to obtain the PA1 Foundation Module in safe pesticide use. However, you also have the option to qualify yourself to apply pesticides through a vehicle mounted boom sprayer with PA2, a hand held applicator with PA6 or through this course.
