Course Overview:

Unit 283 – Operating Mounted or Trailed Placement Applicators PA4A (previously PA4S)

Unit 284 – Operating Mounted or Trailed Broadcast Applicators PA4B (previously PA4G)

Half-day training will provide the knowledge, understanding and skills required to apply pelleted or granular pesticides from a mounted or trailed, placement or broadcast applicator. Topics covered include legislative and safety regulations, environmental factors, read and interpret product information, prepare and calibrate the applicator, operate the application equipment, post-operational procedures.

To gain this qualification candidates must successfully complete a one-to-one practical assessment with oral questioning by a City & Guilds NPTC approved assessor.

Potential candidates must have successfully completed:

Level 2 Award in The Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides

Capable of reading and interpreting product label information, calculating formulae with the use of a calculator and able to safely operate the application vehicle.

Location:

Training and assessment will take place at customers premises using their own equipment, each course can accommodate up to 4 candidates.

Duration:

Total 2 days (half-day training plus assessment on a separate day)

Cost:

Bookings of up to 4 candidates £772 + £50 vat = £822

Given the unique setup of each sprayer, we recommend you first get hands-on experience with the machine under the guidance of your current operator or supplier.  Once you’re familiar with its operation, we can organise your City & Guilds NPTC assessment.  Lantra Awards certification is also available.
