Unit 309 – Use of a Chainsaw from a Mobile Elevating Work Platform
This two‑day training course provides the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required to prepare and operate a chainsaw from a Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) safely and to industry standards, in line with current legislation. The C&G NPTC practical assessment takes place on a separate day.
Topics covered include Identifying hazards, risks, and appropriate control measures, Emergency procedures and rescue considerations, Relevant legislation, industry guides, and best practice, Safe working loads and MEWP stability, Setting up, positioning, and operating a MEWP.
To achieve this qualification candidates must successfully complete a one‑to‑one practical assessment with oral questioning, carried out by a City & Guilds NPTC approved assessor.
Customers must provide their own MEWP.
