Level 2 Award in Safe use of Brushcutters and Trimmers
Unit 253 – Trimmer and Brushcutter Operations
One‑day training and assessment provides the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required to prepare and operate brushcutters and trimmers safely and to industry standards, in line with current legislation. Topics covered include Health and safety requirements, Risk assessment and safe‑working practices, Site preparation and environmental considerations, Pre‑use checks and routine maintenance, Identification and correct use of controls and instruments, Operating the machine to cut or trim effectively and within the capacity of the equipment.
To achieve this qualification delivered by a City & Guilds NPTC approved assessor candidates must successfully complete a one‑to‑one practical assessment with oral questioning. Lantra Awards certification is also available for group bookings.
