Unit 223 – Prepare and Operate a Sit-Astride All-Terrain Vehicle
Unit 224 – Prepare and Operate a Side-by-Side All-Terrain Vehicle
Unit 225 – Operate an All-Terrain Vehicle with a Trailer or Trailed Attachment
The course is designed for individuals who operate an ATV as part of their work in agriculture, forestry, grounds or estate maintenance and outdoor events, as well as those who may use an ATV for recreational use.
One-day training and assessment provides the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required to prepare and operate an ATV safely and to industry standards in line with current legislation. Topics covered include Preparation and operation of the vehicle, Pre‑use maintenance and safety checks, Recognition and correct use of controls and instruments, Manoeuvring the vehicle on rough terrain and slopes, Safe working practices and industry best practice.
An optional additional unit is available for those who need to operate an ATV with a trailer or trailed attachment, covering coupling, loading, stability considerations and safe towing techniques.
To achieve this qualification delivered by a City & Guilds NPTC approved assessor candidates must successfully complete a one‑to‑one practical assessment with oral questioning. Customers must provide their own vehicle.
Training and assessment will take place at your premises using your own equipment. If preferred training can take place at our premises in Ongar, however you must provide your own equipment.
