This course is for individuals who operate mowers as part of their work in agriculture, horticulture, landscaping, grounds maintenance, greenkeeping and amenity use.
One‑day training and assessment provides the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required to prepare and operate pedestrian and ride‑on mowers safely and to industry standards, in line with current legislation. Topics covered include Pre‑use checks, routine maintenance and fault reporting, Identification and correct use of controls and instruments, Safe and effective operation of the mower, taking account of the specific cutting mechanism, Industry best practice and safe‑working techniques.
Training can be delivered on machines with the following cutting mechanisms: Cylinder, Flail, Rotary. Customers must provide their own ride on cylinder or flail machines.
To achieve this qualification delivered by a City & Guilds NPTC approved assessor candidates must successfully complete a one‑to‑one practical assessment with oral questioning. Lantra Awards certification is also available for group bookings.
