Unit 222 – Prepare and Operate a Manually Fed Woodchipper
One‑day training and assessment provides the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required to use a woodchipper safely and to industry standards, in line with current legislation. Topics covered include Risk assessment and hazard identification, Emergency planning and safe‑working procedures, Industry best practice and relevant guidance, Environmental considerations, Pre‑start checks and equipment inspection, Site preparation and safe operating methods, Safe use of a woodchipper.
To achieve this qualification delivered by a City & Guilds NPTC approved assessor candidates must successfully complete a one‑to‑one practical assessment with oral questioning. Lantra Awards certification is also available for group bookings.
