Level 2 Certificate of Competence in Tractor Driving & Related Operations
Unit 221 – Prepare and Operate a Tractor and Attachments
This course is suitable for individuals working in agriculture, horticulture, grounds maintenance and other land‑based sectors with some driving experience. Inexperienced operators may require additional training.
One‑day training and assessment provides the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required to prepare and operate a tractor and a range of attachments safely and in line with current legislation and industry standards. Topics covered include Safe driving and manoeuvring of a tractor, Pre‑use maintenance, safety checks and fault reporting, Identification and correct use of controls and instruments, Safe reversing with a trailer, Trailer hitching and unhitching, Attaching and operating 3‑point linkage equipment, Working safely with Power Take Off (PTO)‑driven attachments.
To achieve this qualification delivered by a City & Guilds NPTC approved assessor candidates must successfully complete a one‑to‑one practical assessment with oral questioning. Lantra Awards certification is also available for group bookings.
