This half‑day training course provides the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required to apply pelleted or granular pesticides using mounted or trailed applicators, whether placement or broadcast systems. The C&G NPTC practical assessment takes place on a separate day.
The course ensures operators can work safely, accurately and in compliance with current legislation and industry best practice. Topics covered include Legislative and safety requirements, Environmental factors and protection of water, wildlife and people, Reading and interpreting product labels and application information, Preparing, setting up and calibrating the applicator, Operating the equipment safely and effectively, Post‑operational cleaning, maintenance and record keeping.
To achieve this qualification candidates must successfully complete a one‑to‑one practical assessment with oral questioning, carried out by a City & Guilds NPTC approved assessor.
Training and assessment will take place at customers premises using their own equipment, each course can accommodate up to 4 candidates.
Given the unique setup of each sprayer, we recommend gaining hands‑on experience with your specific machine under the guidance of your current operator or equipment supplier. This ensures you are familiar with its controls, calibration process and operational characteristics. Once you are confident in its use, we can arrange your City & Guilds NPTC assessment.
