Unit 266 – Operating Pedestrian Handheld Applicators (Knapsacks) fitted with hydraulic nozzles or rotary atomisers to apply pesticides to or near water PA6AW
This one-day training course provides the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required to apply pesticides to land using pedestrian handheld applicators fitted with hydraulic nozzles or rotary atomisers. The C&G NPTC practical assessment takes place on a separate day.
The course ensures operators can work safely, accurately and in full compliance with current legislation and industry best practice. Topics covered include Legislative and safety requirements, Environmental factors and protection of water, wildlife and people, Reading and interpreting product labels and application information, Preparing, setting up and calibrating handheld applicators, Operating the equipment safely and effectively, Post‑operational cleaning, maintenance and record keeping.
To achieve this qualification candidates must successfully complete a one‑to‑one practical assessment with oral questioning, carried out by a City & Guilds NPTC approved assessor.
An additional assessment fee is payable to candidates who require PA6AW applying pesticides from pedestrian handheld applicators in or near water; please contact us to discuss this.
